AIST 1 ( Russian АИСТ for stork ) is the prototype of the Russian AIST small satellite series , which was developed by a group of students, doctoral candidates and scientists from the Samara State University of Aerospace in collaboration with ZSKB-Progress .

The task of the satellite was to measure the earth's magnetic field and record micrometeorites .

AIST 1 was launched on December 28, 2013 at 12:30 UTC from the Plesetsk cosmodrome with a Soyuz 2.1w / Volga . It was the first time this type of missile was used.
