Radio 6 , Radio Sputnik 6 or RS-6 is a Soviet amateur radio satellite that was developed and built by the central radio club of the DOSAAF . RS-6 carries a linear transponder for the Mode A .
mission
The satellite was on 17 December 1981 together with RS-3 to RS-5 , RS-7 and RS-8 with a Russian Cosmos-3M - carrier rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome launched in Russia. RS3A in Moscow was named as the command station.
On May 1, 1984, a distance record of 7042 km between the stations N9CUE in Indianapolis ( EM69xq ) and DK9AC in Göttingen (JO41xm) was registered via RS-6 .
