Informator-1 ( Russian Информатор-1 ) was a communications satellite of the Soviet Ministry of Geology.
The satellite was launched on January 29, 1991 from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome . In addition to broadband digital transmission options for the Ministry of Geology, it also had an assembly for the amateur radio service via satellites , which was built by radio amateurs in the Soviet Union and Germany who were involved in the construction of the main payload. For amateur radio purposes, the satellite was known as AMSAT - OSCAR 21 (west) and RS -14 (east). Operation ended on October 12, 1994.
