UoSAT 5 (also UoSAT-OSCAR 22 ) is a British amateur radio satellite .
It was built at the University of Surrey and launched on July 17, 1991 as a secondary payload together with the earth observation satellite ERS-1 with an Ariane 40 rocket at the Guiana Space Center (ramp ELA-2 ) into a low earth orbit .
The satellite is used for packet radio .
