ANDE-FCal ( Atmospheric Neutral Density Experiment - Fence Calibration , also Navy-OSCAR 62 ) was an American research and amateur radio satellite that was developed and built for training purposes at the United States Naval Academy .

Release of ANDE-MAA and ANDE-FCal

The 75 kg FCAL had a spherical structure 44.8 cm in diameter. It was used to calibrate radar systems . For amateur radio connections, there was also a digipeater for the 70 centimeter band on board.

Mission history

The satellite was on 21 December 2006 together with the same site-developed satellite ANDE-MAA during the mission STS-116 from the space shuttle Discovery in a low Earth orbit released

The re-entry into the earth's atmosphere took place on May 25, 2008 .
