JAS 2

JAS 2 ( Japanese Amateur Satellite , also OSCAR 29 , Fuji-OSCAR 29 , FO-29 ) is a Japanese amateur radio satellite . It was built by radio amateurs from the Japan Amateur Radio League .

The satellite was launched on August 17, 1996 as a secondary payload with an H-II rocket in the Tanegashima Space Center . After the successful launch, the satellite was assigned the OSCAR number 29. It is equipped with a linear transponder and a bulletin board, which enables Internet traffic in partial routes, as well as a digital kerf, which outputs voice in FM . The uplink is in the 2 m band and the downlink in the 70 cm band . Its COSPAR designation is 1996-046B.
