Rubin 2 (also AATiS - OSCAR 49 ) is the name of a German small satellite . It was launched with a Dnepr-1 on December 20, 2002 in Baikonur .

construction

The satellite measures 0.4 m × 0.4 m × 0.3 m and has a payload of around 40 kg. It is based on the Rubin satellite series from OHB Technology in Bremen. Rubin 2 transmits its data to earth via the Orbcomm satellite communication system and has an amateur radio digipeater with downlink on 145.825 MHz and uplink on 435.275 MHz.

Rubin does not have its own drive.
