ExseedSat-1 , VO-96 or VUsat OSCAR 96 is an Indian amateur radio satellite . ExseedSat-1 is a 1U CubeSat developed by the Indian company Exseed Space Innovations Ltd. was developed and built. The five Indian radio amateurs were instrumental in the development: Ashhar Farhan (VU2ESE), George Phillips (VU2GT), Gurudutta Panda (VU3GDP), Sasi Bhusan (VU3ELR) and Nitin Mutin (VU3TYG). ExseedSat-1 is India's first privately financed satellite. The satellite should also take over emergency radio tasks.
construction
ExseedSat-1 carries an amateur radio payload that has the following features:
- single-channel narrowband FM transponder mode U / V
- Squelch with CTCSS 67.0 Hz.
- Output power selectable between 1 watt and 0.5 watt.
- Digipeater function with APRS with UHF uplink and VHF downlink.
- Melody mode: For special occasions or events, a simple melody is played from a few notes.
mission
The satellite was launched on December 3, 2018 at 13:34 UTC with the Falcon 9 flight SSO-A together with 63 other small satellites from the Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4 # SLC-4E in the USA. This satellite is expected to have a lifespan of two years. After the launch, the first telemetry signals were received all over the world.

- 145.900 MHz FM downlink and digipeater downlink
- 435.340 MHz uplink (FM CTCSS 67.0 Hz)
The frequencies were coordinated by the IARU .
