OSCAR 19

OSCAR 19 (also LUSAT , Lusat-OSCAR 19 or LO-19 ; LU is the ITU prefix for Argentine callsigns ) is an Argentine amateur radio satellite . It was the first ever Argentine satellite.

The satellite was launched on January 22, 1990 as a secondary payload together with the earth observation satellite SPOT 2 with an Ariane 4 from the Center Spatial Guyanais in Kourou . After the successful launch, the satellite previously known as Lusat was assigned the OSCAR number 19. The satellite had a digipeater with uplinks in the 2-meter band and downlinks in the 70-centimeter band and a CCD camera .

Its COSPAR designation is 1990-005G.
