OSCAR 50 (also Saudisat-1C or Saudi-OSCAR 50 ) is a Saudi Arabian amateur radio satellite .
construction
SO-50 carries several experiments, including a communication experiment in the form of a single-channel V / U transponder for FM . This transponder is available to amateurs worldwide. The receiver has a sensitivity of −124 dBm with a bandwidth of 15 kHz. The receiving antenna is a rod antenna in the top corner of the spacecraft. The received signal is filtered and processed before it is fed into the UHF transmitter with 250 mW. The transponder has a 10-minute timer which must be armed with a CTCSS tone of 74.4 Hz before use . The downlink antenna is a rod antenna that is mounted in the lower corner of the spacecraft and tilted inward at 45 degrees.
mission
SaudiSat-OSCAR 50 was launched on December 20, 2002 as a secondary payload together with four other small satellites with a Dnepr rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome .
Frequencies
