FASTRAC 2 ( English Formation Autonomy Spacecraft with Thrust, Relnav, Attitude and Crosslink , also OSCAR 70 ) is an American technology testing satellite.

It was built at the University of Texas at Austin . The satellite was launched on November 20, 2010 UTC as a secondary payload with a Minotaur rocket from the Kodiak Launch Complex . After the successful launch, the satellite was assigned the OSCAR number 70. Mission Control Center is a university amateur radio station with the callsign KE5DTW.

Mission and Payload

FASTRAC 2 started together with FASTRAC 1 and was only separated from him on March 22nd. The main mission is to test satellite control technologies. As an experiment, FASTRAC 2 has an inertial sensor on board and a digipeater with two uplinks in the 70 centimeter band and one downlink in the 2 meter band .
