Yubileyny ( Russian Юбилейный for anniversary , English Yubileyniy ) is the name of a Russian amateur radio satellite , which on 23 May 2008, together with three satellites of the type Gonez with a Rockot - carrier rocket from the launch pad 133 of the cosmodrome Plesetsk into a low Earth orbit was launched.
The satellite was manufactured by NPO PM (Scientific Production Organization for Applied Mechanics) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first unmanned space flight. Every four minutes it transmits imitation Sputnik-1 signals, voice messages as well as photo and video information on the 70 cm tape allocated for radio amateurs . The payload required for this was developed by the DOSAAF (Society for the Support of the Army, Air Force and Fleet) with the support of Russian industry. The launch of Jubiljeini also serves to test the components of the satellite bus used .
technology
The approximately 40 kg, hexagonal satellite is based on a satellite bus for microsatellites (<100 kg) and is equipped with a three-axis control system including a sun sensor. Power is supplied by gallium arsenide - solar cells .
