ANUAL

The ANUAL (working group for nature and environmental protection Asbacher Land) is a registered non-profit, politically independent association that is committed to nature and environmental protection in the Asbacher Land ( Rhineland-Palatinate , northern Westerwald , Neuwied district ). It has existed since 1984.

Members

The working group currently has 413 members (as of November 28, 2014) and is therefore the largest nature conservation association in northern Rhineland-Palatinate.

The members are informed about the activities of the ANUAL in newsletters twice a year. In addition, regular general meetings and information events are offered for all interested parties, at which new projects and routine work can be coordinated and planned.

aims

  • Cooperation with national environmental protection associations.
  • Support and cooperation with the authorities in the area of ​​the municipality of Asbach, or at the district and state level in questions of nature and environmental protection.
  • Adoption of Bach sponsorships for Wahler Bach , Pfaffenbach and Köhlershohner Bach.
  • Recording of important biotopes and individual occurrences of plants and animals through mapping and continuous observation and their protection through appropriate measures.

In the community of Asbach, the working group coordinates use and maintenance measures on its own, leased land and on land owned by the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in order to preserve and, if necessary, improve biotopes worthy of protection. The largest projects are the Hinterplag quarry , the Bennau quarry and the Buchholzer Moor heathland .
