The product range includes motherboards , optical drives , graphics cards , sound cards , input devices (u a.. Mice ), headsets and computer case in different designs with PC power supplies and CPU - fans .
AOpen is known for its MoDT technology ("Mobile on Desktop"), which enables Pentium M processors to be used on desktop systems. Since the Pentium IV gets very hot compared to the Pentium M, many manufacturers produced desktop mainboards for the Pentium M in 2005/2006.
miniPC
One of AOpen's best-known MoDT systems is the AOpen miniPC, a Mac mini- looking computer that comes with Linspire preinstalled . Critics refer to the miniPC as a simple copy of the Mac mini, especially since the miniPC was launched shortly after the Mac mini. AOpen denies, however: “AOpen has already invested two years in the development and marketing of the miniPC. The miniPC concept is much older than the Mac mini. ”Aside from the question of which of the two concepts is the older one, it is noticeable that Apple has not yet sued AOpen for the design of the miniPC. AOpen presented a new version of the miniPC (MP945-VX) at the Intel Developer Conference (IDF) in March 2006 .
