The AZS AWF Poznań is a sports club from the Polish city of Poznan . The club with the club colors blue and white was founded in 1977 at the Poznan Sports University ( Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego ). He maintains departments in gymnastics , hockey , kickboxing , athletics , handball , water polo , swimming , volleyball , taekwondo , fencing and rowing .

The hockey department was founded in 1997 with a women's team, three years later a men's team was added, which consists exclusively of students from the sports college. The team has been playing in the highest Polish league since 2001 and was able to take third place in the championship in 2009 both on the field and in the hall. In the 2009/2010 season, AZS AWF represented Poland in the Euro Hockey League , where the team was eliminated after the preliminary round after 1: 4 against East Grinstead Hockey Club and 0: 6 against Amsterdam H&BC . The ladies of the club became Polish field hockey champions in 1998 and Polish indoor hockey champions in 2000 and 2002.
