Career

society

The defender Aarón Galindo is considered a technically skilled football player. He comes from the well-known Mexican youth division of the CD Cruz Azul football club and played there until the 2005/06 season. After a doping incident in the national team, the defensive player fled to the Spanish second division at Hércules Alicante in the 2006/07 season . After just six months, on February 8, 2007, he moved to the Swiss Axpo Super League at Grasshopper Club Zurich , for which he played 15 games and scored two goals. At the GCZ he was brought in to replace the injured Weligton and Matthias Langkamp . Galindo quickly became a regular at the Grasshoppers. The defensive player made his debut in the Swiss league on February 10, 2007 in a 0-0 draw against FC Zurich , when coach Krassimir Balakow already included him in the starting line-up of his team. In the second league game for the new club, Galindo scored his first goal for Zurich.

On July 28, 2007, Eintracht Frankfurt signed the Mexican international who signed a two-year contract in Frankfurt. According to CEO Heribert Bruchhagen, the reason for the commitment was the injuries of several defenders. Galindo made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 9 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , when he came on in the 49th minute for the injured Christoph Preuss . Just 114 seconds after coming on, Galindo received his first yellow card in German professional football. Over time, Galindo played his way into Frankfurt's starting eleven. In the following year, however, he found less time in the club of coach Friedhelm Funkel . On January 8, 2009, Galindo moved back to his homeland to Deportivo Guadalajara after 32 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt. The clubs agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.

National team

With the Mexican Olympic selection, Galindo took part in the Olympic football tournament in Athens in 2004 . Before that, he played in the youth teams of the Mexican association. So the defender took part with the U-17 in 1999 at the U-17 World Cup, where the team was able to advance to the quarter-finals.

The central defender has played a total of eighteen international matches (as of April 22, 2015) for Mexico. At the Confederations Cup in 2005 , he was suspended from the team alongside defense chief Salvador Carmona for doping and banned from the Mexican association for one year for taking the anabolic steroid norandrosterone . As a result, he missed participation in the 2006 World Cup . It was only three years later that he was nominated again for the selection of his country. Galindo made his first international match on October 27, 2004 against Ecuador .
