The Aaron Stolln is a tunnel in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

On the middle Fastenberg , on which Johanngeorgenstadt extends, several pits were operated in the 17th century for the extraction of directly adjacent ore veins . The deepest tunnel of these pits was the Aaron tunnel, the mouth of which was on the Kirschbächel. It is not far from the end of the street called Heimberg .

history

In the Luciae quarter of 1722, the minefield of the Edle-Gabe-Gottes-Stollen, muted in the Luciae quarter of 1720, was added to the Aaron Stollen for lack of trades . In 1736 the treasure trove and tunnel were closed, but mine water continued to flow from the Aaron tunnel until the 20th century , as there was a connection to the higher Elias treasure trove. The spoil dump and the remains of the mouth hole were removed after 1949 when the front mud pond was created . The tunnel was examined at the end of the 1940s by the Geological Department of Object 01 of Wismut AG . However, no viable uranium mineralization was found. The mouth hole was reconstructed at the end of the 1990s after the remains of the tunnel had been properly stored by the Schneeberg mountain security.
