Abós (Jaca)
Abós is a desert in the area of Jaca , a Spanish city in the province of Huesca in Aragon . The place is northeast of Jaca, about one kilometer west of Ipás . The Calle Fondabós (Fuente de Abós, Fountain of Abós) in Jaca is reminiscent of Abós and leads towards the former town, which is now crossed by the national road 330, which leads to France.
history
Abós is the first time in 1063 in a document of King Ramiro I mentioned. In 1187 King Alfonso II donated the place and the church to the cathedral chapter of Jaca. At the end of the 13th century, Abós became part of the Jaca Priory .
From the long abandoned village, only the former parish church of San Miguel remains as a ruin.
