Abasha Georgian აბაშა is a small town in western Georgia .

It is located in the Mingrelia and Upper Svaneti region and is the administrative seat of the Abasha municipality . 4,941 people live in Abasha (2014). The village lies in the Colchis Plain between the rivers Abascha and Noghela , 220 km in a straight line west-north-west of the capital Tbilisi .

The station Abascha is located on the railway line Poti-Tbilisi-Baku , the oldest railway line in Georgia, which went on this section 1872 in operation.
