Abdoulaye Seye

Abdoulaye Seye (born July 30, 1934 in Saint-Louis , Senegal , † October 13, 2011 in Thiès ) was a Senegalese athlete who started for France .

Career

In 1959 the sprinter won gold over 100 m at the Mediterranean Games . At the Olympic Games in 1960 he won bronze in the 200 m with his personal best of 20.7 s, behind the Italian Livio Berruti (20.5 s) and the American Lester Carney (20.6 s). Over 100 m he reached the quarter-finals, in the 4 x 100 meter relay he was eliminated with the French team in the preliminary run.

Over 200 m he was French champion in 1956 and 1959, and vice-champion in 1958. In 1959 he was also champion in the 100 m.
