Abdoulie Suku Singhateh stood in the 1997 parliamentary election as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Lower Badibu constituency in the Kerewan Administrative Area . With 53.22% he was able to win the constituency before Majanko Samusa (UDP) for himself. In the following election to parliament in 2002 , he ran as a candidate in the same constituency. Since there was no opposing candidate from the opposition, he was able to win the constituency for himself. In 2007 Singhateh ran again in the constituency for the 2007 parliamentary election as a candidate. With 53.35% he was able to win the constituency before Kebba Famara Singhateh (UDP) for himself. In the 2012 parliamentary elections , he ran again as a candidate against Kebba Famara Singhateh for a seat in the National Assembly . With 55.85%, Abdoulie Suku Singhateh won the constituency again this time. After Yahya Jammeh lost the presidential election in late 2016 , the former ruling APRC party fell in a crisis. In February 2017 an initiative was formed to consolidate the party. In the so-called committee, Abdoulie Suku Singhateh was next to the majority leader in parliament Fabakary Tombong Jatta , the parliamentarian Netty Baldeh and the former minister Musa Amul Nyassi . In the elections for Parliament in 2017 Singhateh did not occur again.

In March 2018, it was announced that Singhateh, 22 former APRC MPs, had joined the United Democratic Party (UDP).
