Abdul Hadi Dawi Pareshan ( Pashtun عبدالهادي داوي; * 1894 in Kabul ; † 1982 ibid) was an Afghan poet , diplomat and government official .

Life

Abdul Hadi Dawi Pareshan was born in Kabul in 1894 to a Pashtun family of the Dawi tribe. In 1912 he graduated from Habibia High School. In 1922 he was appointed ambassador to London . In 1925 he resigned from this post. Until 1928 he was Minister of Commerce . From 1929 to 1931 he served as ambassador again, this time in Berlin . He was considered a supporter of Amanullah Khan . In 1950 he was elected to the Wolesi Jirga , the lower house of the Afghan two-chamber parliament. There he served as speaker of the house. During this time he was also secretary and guardian of the then King Zahir Shah . From 1952 to 1954 he was ambassador to Cairo ; from 1954 to 1958 he held this office in Jakarta . On October 12, 1965, he was appointed President of the Meschrano Jirga . He died in Kabul in 1982.
