Abdullah ibn Khalifa

Sayyid Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Said , KBE , CMG ( Arabic عبد الله بن خليفة; born February 12, 1910 ; died July 1, 1963 ) was the 10th Sultan of Zanzibar . He succeeded his father, Khalifa bin Harub , who died on October 9, 1960. His reign began in the African year and came at a time of great change. Abdullah was not as popular as his father and was already marked by illness when he took office. His legs had to be amputated and he died after just three years.

His term of office lasted from October 9, 1960 to July 1, 1963. After his death, he was followed by his son, the last Sultan of Zanzibar, Jamshid .
