The Aberfeldy River is a river in Gippsland in the Australian state of Victoria .

It rises below Mount Selma , a foothill of the Great Dividing Range , at an altitude of 662 m at the confluence of the Aberfeldy River North Branch and Aberfeldy River South Branch . The northern source river is 6.1 km long and rises west of Mount Selma at an altitude of 1230 m. The southern source river rises west of the neighboring Mount Useful at an altitude of 1260 m and reaches the source of the Aberfeldy River after 8 km.

The Aberfeldy River flows south and flows into the Thomson River after 48.6 km at the southern end of the Baw Baw National Park at an altitude of 253 m .

On its way it takes up the two streams Fulton Creek and Donelly Creek coming from the east.

About eight kilometers after the source is the small town of Aberfeldy near the western bank of the river. 30 km further downstream, the Aberfeldy River enters Baw Baw National Park at Beardmore .
