Abitur in Saxony-Anhalt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The upper secondary school in Saxony-Anhalt is controlled with the academic year 2019/20 new: performance and basic courses have been reintroduced in the 11th grade.

The previous system only applies to the 12th grade, which is coming to an end (13th in the specialist high school ). This consisted of a system of (four-hour) core subjects , (four-hour) profile subjects and (two-hour) compulsory elective subjects . The provisions of the qualification phase (not the introductory phase) are discussed in more detail below.

subjects

Between a compulsory area and an elective area such as B. in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony-Anhalt does not make a separate distinction; Biology is just as important as astronomy.

The subjects are divided into different task areas :

  • Linguistic-literary-artistic field of activity: German, English, French, Russian, Latin, Greek, Spanish, Italian, other foreign languages, art education, music
  • Social science tasks: social studies, history, geography, philosophy, psychology, law, economics, religious instruction , ethics instruction
  • Mathematical-scientific-technical field of activity: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, technology, astronomy
  • without assignment: sport

Occupancy obligations

The following core subjects must be taken for four hours per week :

  • German
  • mathematics
  • history

The following profile subjects must be taken for four hours per week :

  • a foreign language
  • a science
  • a foreign language or a natural science

The following compulsory elective subjects must be taken for two or four hours per week :

  • Art education or music (2 hours per week)
  • Geography or Social Studies (2 hours per week)
  • Religious Education or Ethics (2 hours per week)
  • Sport or a substitute subject (medical certificate required) (2 hours per week)
  • Foreign language or science (4 hours per week) or one or two additional elective subjects (2 hours per week, 2 hours of science are also possible, but these cannot be examined)

The number of hours per week for this compulsory course is 34 or 36 in the course level, but 34 in the preliminary course level.

Abitur examination

The written exam comprises four subjects; Of these, two will be examined at an increased level of difficulty (1st and 2nd examination subject) and two at the basic level (3rd and 4th examination subject). Before the school year 2016/2017 the following regulation applied:

  • German
  • mathematics
  • Profile foreign language
  • Profile science or history

The 1st and 2nd examination subject can be freely selected from these four subjects, whereby only one subject may be represented from the group foreign language, natural science, history.

In the subjects of German and mathematics it is therefore necessary to take the Abitur examinations, provided that these cannot be circumvented by introducing a special learning achievement .

For the 2016/2017 school year, the regulations were adapted so that German, mathematics or the profile foreign language can be replaced by another 4-hour testable subject (e.g. another foreign language or science).

The (5th) oral examination subject is freely selectable, as long as it is guaranteed that the five examination subjects cover the three areas of responsibility.

Billing

The billing of services and the determination of the overall qualification are based on the national system . Due to the special features of the upper level structure in Saxony-Anhalt, the following adjustments must be observed:

  • At least 36 semesters of the course must be brought in, including:
    • four semesters in German
    • four semesters in mathematics
    • four semesters in history
    • four semesters in a profile foreign language
    • four semesters in a profile natural science
    • two semesters in art education or music
    • All half-years of the Abitur examination subjects, unless they are already included in the half-years to be included above
    • any further semester of the course until the number of 36 is reached
  • In Saxony-Anhalt, the two advanced courses to be billed correspond to the 1st and 2nd written examination subject.
  • The performance of the Abitur examination is billed four times; If there is a written and an oral exam in a subject, the partial results are weighted in a ratio of 2: 1.

The services provided are divided into two service blocks I and II. Block I includes the above-mentioned 36 semesters of the course (the 1st and 2nd examination subject can be counted twice). The four times billed achievements of the Abitur exams are assigned to block II (20 achievements).
