Abohar ( Panjabi ਅਬੋਹਰ ) is a city ( Municipal Council ) in the Indian state of Punjab .
The city is located in the lowlands 22 km from the Pakistani border. Abohar is located in the Fazilka district, which was founded in 2011 . The city had 145,302 inhabitants at the 2011 census. Neighboring cities are Fazilka (32 km north-northwest), Malout (28 km east) and Sri Ganganagar (40 km southwest).
