Abraham Ascher

Abraham Ascher ( 1794 in Wallerstein - November 5, 1837 in Bühl ) was a district rabbi in Baden .

Life

Abraham Ascher, son of the later Baden Oberland rabbi Ascher Löw , learned in Metz and Fürth . On January 10, 1821, he married Gertrud, born Herzfeld (1797–1880) in Mannheim , daughter of the rabbi Salomon Herzthal (also Herzfeld ) in Mannheim. There were seven children from this marriage. The family initially lived from trading and lending money, and in 1828 he got a job as a prayer leader in Mannheim. In 1829 he was first decayed rabbinate and from July 2, 1832 until his death, district rabbi in Bühl. He was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bühl.
