Abu Talib (musician)
Abu Talib (* as Fred Leroy Robinson , 24. February 1939 in Memphis , Tennessee , † 8. October 2009 in Lancaster , California ) serving as until its name change in 1978 Freddy Robinson acted, was an American blues - and jazz - guitarist , Singer and Harmonica Player.
He is best known for his collaborations with such diverse musicians as Little Walter , Howlin Wolf and Jimmy Rogers (in the 1950s and 1960s), the Jazz Crusaders , Monk Higgins , Blue Mitchell , Stanley Turrentine and John Mayall (in the 1970s ) and Bobby Bland (1980s). In addition to his work in the studio and on tours with others, he has made a number of his own recordings and over the decades has asserted himself as a very versatile musician, both in the world of blues and jazz.
