Abbutalip Akhmetov

Äbutälip Ibischanuly Akhmetov ( Kazakh Әбутәліп Ібіжанұлы Ахметов , Russian Абуталип Ибижанович Ахметов Abutalip Ibischanowitsch Akhmetov ; * 4. November 1949 in the state farms Kenes, Rajon Talas Oblast Dzhambul , Kazakh SSR ; † 10. November 2010 in Dushanbe ) was a Kazakh diplomat and ambassador Kazakhstan in Tajikistan .

Life

Akhmetov was born in 1949. Between 1968 and 1970 he served in the Soviet Army. He is a graduate of the State Institute for International Relations in Moscow , which he attended from 1971 to 1977. He has been employed in diplomacy since 1982 . At first he was head of department in the Foreign Ministry of the Kazakh SSR until 1989. From 1990 to 1992 Akhmetov was second secretary at the Soviet Embassy in Vietnam , 1992-1997 First Secretary and Charge d'Affaires in the Kazakh Embassy in Turkey before to 1998 in 1997 Kazakh Foreign Ministry worked.

For the next two years he was Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Mashhad , Iran . Between 2000 and 2002 he was Vice-Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From April 2002 to May 2008 he was Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul .

From May 2008 to November 2010 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan.

Akhmetov was married to Alia Akhmetova and had a son (Marat, * 1981) and a daughter (Toghschan, * 1984). He was fluent in Kazakh, Russian, Turkish and French and was awarded the Kurmet Order.
