Achim Rhinelander

Achim Rheinländer (born November 12, 1933 in Wiesbaden ; † September 4, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Achim Rheinländer attended the Rheingau High School in Berlin-Friedenau and graduated from high school in 1951 . He then studied at the Universities of Mainz , Göttingen , Marburg and the Free University of Berlin . From 1957 to 1959 he was managing director of a student association in Kassel . In 1963 he joined the SPD and in 1967 the trade union for education and science (GEW). In 1969, Rhinelander became managing director of the SPD in the Tiergarten district . In the Berlin election in 1971 he was elected to the district assembly in Berlin-Tiergarten. But since Jürgen Egert was elected to the Bundestag, Rhinelander moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives in December 1972 . In 1973 he moved from the SPD Tiergarten to the manager of the federal association “ Arbeitskreis Neue Erschung ” and finally in 1978 to manager of the “ Franz Neumann Archive ” (FNA). He was deputy chairman of the parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives. In the Federal Assembly , Rhinelander could take part in the election of the Federal President in 1979 . In 1981 he left parliament.

From 1978 to 2007, Rhinelander was the chairman of the "Friends and Patrons of the German Museum of Technology Berlin eV", then as an honorary member.
