Acton Vale is a city ( Ville ) founded in 1862 in the administrative region of Montérégie in the Canadian province of Québec .
Acton Vale is the chief town of the Regional County Council (MRC) Acton . The city lies on the banks of the Rivière le Renne , a tributary of the Rivière Noire .
The painter Serge Lemoine was born and died in this parish. In 2008 a park was named after him. Bordering cities are Saint-Théodore-d'Acton, Upton , Sainte-Christine, Saint-Valérien-de-Milton and Roxton. Acton Vale received the Montérégie Industrial City award in 1992 . The community newspaper is called La Pensée de Bagot .
