The Rivière Noire ( French for "black river") is a right tributary of the Rivière Yamaska in the administrative regions of Estrie and Montérégie of the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière Noire has its source 5 km east of Waterloo . It initially flows north to Valcourt . Then he turns west. The Rivière Noire passes the small town of Roxton Falls . It flows about 2 km south of Acton Vale . At Upton , the Rivière le Renne flows into the river on the right. The Rivière Noire flows north past Mont Yamaska and then passes the small town of Saint-Pie . The river finally flows into the Rivière Yamaska 10 km south of Saint-Hyacinthe . It has a length of 115 km. It drains an area of 1571 km². The mean discharge at the gauge 7.6 km above the mouth is 25.6 m³ / s.
