Jack Stenekes

Jack Stenekes (* 1945 in Friesland ) is a Canadian evangelist , singer and songwriter of Christian music who gained fame as a soloist and musician for the Janz team .

Live and act

In 1949, Stenekes' family emigrated to Canada . His singing talent was encouraged early on through family music-making and public solo appearances in church. At the beginning of the 1970s he became known as a member of the band Janz Team Singers , which was made up of Ken Janz , Vern Giesbrecht, Herb Rempel and later Nils Kjellström . With the exception of Sweden's Kjellström, the musicians met in 1965 as students at the Briercrest Bible Institute in Caronport , Saskatchewan, know and moved to Germany together in 1971 to work on the Janz team's youth mission. A few years later, through symbiosis with the duo Paul & Danny, the band developed into the internationally successful rock band Deliverance , also on the secular market . After Hildor Janz, Stenekes was the voice of the Missionswerk Janz Team until the beginning of the 1990s and appeared at its numerous major events throughout the German-speaking area alongside the several hundred voices of evangelization choirs.

Today he is the mission leader of the Janz team in Canada. In 2008, a late project called The Blessing was released , recorded together with his three daughters Jodie, Simone and Alison. The German edition of the album contains German-language bonus tracks. In 2010, the album Reflections was released in Canada .
