Ad Roland (* 1945 ) is a Dutch radio and media consultant.

Life

Roland moderated in the Netherlands on numerous public radio stations : from 1963 to 1964 on Avro Radio Minjon in the youth program, from 1965 to 1974 on NOS and from 1974 to 1988 on TROS, known in Germany under the name Hilversum III. There he invented, among other things, the "Europarade". Although he worked as a permanent editor for these stations, Roland also moderated under the pseudonym Ad Petersen or Eddy Gilberts at the same time on the pirate stations Radio Nordsee International (1969 to 1970), Radio Caroline (1973) and Radio Mi Amigo (1974).

Established as a disc jockey (DJ) and program maker beyond the borders of the Netherlands, Ad Roland started his own business as a consultant in the mid-1980s . He worked for radio stations in Spain , Belgium , Austria , the Czech Republic , Scandinavia , the Netherlands and Germany . Here, for example, he played a major role in the success of the first state-wide private radio broadcaster Radio Schleswig-Holstein (R.SH) in Kiel , whose program structure he worked out with the first R.SH program director Hermann Stümpert and for which he worked numerous in his own studios in Hilversum Presenters , including Jörg Pilawa , Dennis Wilms and Anja Goerz , trained. The Dutchman also worked as a consultant for all other notable private radio stations that started in Germany and thus had a lasting impact on the program structure of the local private radio .

Today Ad Roland is considered a radio pioneer. He appears as a speaker at specialist conferences and, with his company Ad Roland Media Service, advises broadcasting stations in Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands on programming and marketing .
