Ad Wouters (* in Dordrecht ) is a Dutch sculptor who lives in Belgium and works in the Leuven area . Wouters is known for his wooden sculptures , which he makes from dead oak trees and which can be freely observed in the forest and in the city of Leuven.

Life

Wouters was born in Dordrecht . From the age of 13 he worked in construction . At the age of 22 he went to Africa as a volunteer for the Belgian organization Bauorde . After this trip he moved to Haasrode in Belgium , where he restored buildings . In the 1990s he was unable to work due to an industrial accident. He then developed as an artist .

His works of art are on public display.

style

Wouters is Schnitzenen mostly of tree trunks or Rekuperationsmaterial in direct carving technique forth. He created his first carvings, De Bosprotter , on behalf of the forest ranger in Meerdaalwoud in 2000. Other recorded works are publicly available in Heverleebos , Meerdaalwoud, Heverlee , Oud-Heverlee , Blanden , Haasrode and Leuven . Wouters makes his works freely available and does not offer them for sale.
