Adakale is a former village in the Çumra district of the Turkish province of Konya . After a regional reform, Adakale is now part of the district.

The place is located in the plain north of the Karadağ massif in the south of the district near the border with Konya province . The district center Çumra is about 25 kilometers to the west, the provincial capital Konya 65 kilometers to the northwest. The village is connected by country roads with Karaman in the south and with the trunk road D-330 in the north, which leads from Konya to Ereğli . In the south of the place is the lake Acıgöl , in the north the much larger Hotamış Gölü , both of which have dried up most of the time. About 1.5 kilometers south of Adakale, the mountain cone of the Kızıldağ rises to a height of 1140 meters from the plain. The late Hittite rock relief on Kızıldağ with a portrait of King Hartapu and several inscriptions in Luwian hieroglyphs is located halfway up its western flank .
