Adalbert Millitz (also Adalbert Militz , born June 2, 1930 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania ; † December 15, 1985 in Timișoara, Romania ) was a functionary of the Romanian Communist Party and representative of the Romanian-German minority in the Socialist Republic of Romania and local researcher.

Life

In 1968 Millitz was elected secretary at the constituent meeting of the Council of Working People of German Nationality . According to the "National Foreign Assessment Center (US)", Millitz held the position of "Deputy Section Chief (Nationalities)" in 1973. In 1974 Millitz was accepted into the Romanian "National Council and Executive Bureau for Radio and Television". In these functions he advised Paul Orza in 1978 on the script and the direction of the German-language television film "Gruß aus Jahrmarkt ".

After the members of the action group Banat Gerhardt Csejka , Gerhard Ortinau , Richard Wagner and William Totok were arrested on charges of attempting to cross the border illegally, Millitz and Ilie Verdeț (secretary for ideological questions and nationalities) ordered their release.

The documentary The German Nationality in Romania , written by Adalbert Millitz and Monica Barcan in 1977 , was created under the aegis of the Romanian "Institute for Political Science and the Study of the National Question". The later deputy director of the House of the German East , Udo Wolfgang Acker, described the documentation in 1978 as "a self-exposing propaganda pamphlet".

From 1978 Millitz belonged to the "State Council Commission for the Analysis of Proposals, Accusations, Complaints and Inquiries from Working People".
