Adalbert Wolf

Adalbert Wolf (born February 12, 1879 in Neusiedl am See , † October 23, 1950 in Vienna ) was an Austrian pharmacist and politician ( GDVP ). From 1922 to 1923 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Wolf was born as the son of the iron trader Franz Wolf from Neusiedl. He attended elementary school and grammar school in Győr and wrote his Matura homework on the subject of "Hands off the German estate". Wolf then studied at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1900 with the academic degree Mr. pharm. Wolf subsequently worked as a pharmacist in Neusiedl am See. Wolf did military service between 1914 and 1918. In 1918 he created the word "Vierburgenland", the planned state name for Burgenland, and was sentenced to 28 months' imprisonment for high treason. He was imprisoned in Győr from 1919 to 1921 and became a member of the Burgenland administration on January 27, 1922 .

politics

Wolf co-founded the Greater German People's Party in Burgenland and was a member of the state party executive. On February 2, 1922, he was elected deputy chairman and held the office of mayor of Neusiedl am See between June 11, 1923 and September 6, 1924. From 1926 Wolf worked professionally in Vienna, in 1934 he finally moved to Vienna and on February 1, 1937 founded the "Vierburgen-Apotheke" in Vienna-Meidling. Wolf was a member of the Burgenland Landtag between July 15, 1922 and November 13, 1923.
