Adam Mansbach (born July 1, 1976 ) is an American author and literature professor.

Life

Mansbach had since the 1990s editor of the hip-hop -Magazine Elementary and was a artistic adviser at the Center for Jazz Studies of Columbia University in New York City . He is a leading theorist on the subjects of hip-hop and aesthetics and appears today (2011) on television and with lectures on these subjects.

Since 2002 Mansbach has published a variety of essays and novels on various topics, published his poetry and was editor of a "Fictional History of the United States" together with T Cooper .

From 2009 to 2010, Mansbach was visiting professor of literature at Rutgers University , the State University of New Jersey . He lived in Berkeley , California in 2013 and was artist in residence at the Institute for Diversity in the Arts at Stanford University .
