Jo Lendle (born February 28, 1968 in Osnabrück ) is a German writer . He is the publisher of Carl Hanser Verlag .

Live and act

Jo Lendle grew up in Göttingen . He studied literature, cultural studies and philosophy in Hildesheim and Montreal and was the first graduate of the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . In 1996/1997 he published the literary magazine Edit . From 1997 he was involved in developing the DuMont literature program as a lecturer for German-language literature. He also taught as a visiting professor and lecturer at the Universities of Munich, Leipzig, Hildesheim and at the Swiss Literature Institute. In 2006 Lendle became program manager for German-language literature and in 2010 Managing Director of DuMont Buchverlag. Since the beginning of 2014 he has been the publisher of Carl Hanser Verlag. He is the publisher of the literary magazine Akzente and a member of the board of trustees of the Munich Literature House , the publishers' committee of the German Book Trade Association  and the board of trustees of the German Literature Fund and a juror for the German Bookshop Prize .
