Adam Paul Webster (born July 3, 1980 in Leicester ) is a former English football player .

Career

Active as a striker, Webster was discovered in Leicestershire amateur football by the professional club Notts County and signed by Notts in February 1999. In the 1999/2000 season Webster was first awarded twice to the Southern League , in September 1999 in the Premier Division at Grantham Town and in January 2000 in the Division One West at Bedworth United . Shortly after his return from Bedworth, Webster came under coach Gary Brazil on January 22, 2000 in a third division game at Scunthorpe United (final score 0: 1) by late substitution for his competitive debut for Notts County. Further missions did not follow and in March 2000 he was firmly committed by Bedworth.

In December 2001 Webster moved to Worcester City in the sixth class Southern League Premier Division after weeks of transfer negotiations for a transfer fee of £ 8,000 . At Worcester, he was scheduled by coach John Barton im Sturm as the successor to Dover Athletic's Phil Stant . In 2004 the club became a founding member of Conference North . A highlight of his time at Worcester was participating in the 2005/06 FA Cup , when Webster had a significant role in reaching the second main round. Webster was not only successful in the 1-0 replay win in the first main round against Chippenham Town as a scorer, but had also scored in the previous three rounds. In the second main round, the team failed with 0: 1 in front of over 4,000 spectators in the local St George's Lane at the third division club Huddersfield Town , although they played the entire second half in the majority. Webster had a rare appearance as a substitute player in February 2008, when he was actually injured as a substitute goalkeeper against Hucknall Town on the matchday squad. After 95 goals in 256 missions Webster left Worcester in late February 2008 and moved to league rivals Hinckley United .

Although he only took part in the last 11 games of the season at Hinckley, he was the club's top scorer with 8 goals this season, an achievement that he repeated in the following two Conference North seasons (2008/09 17 goals in 46 appearances; 2009/10 22 goals in 28 appearances). In the 2009/10 season, Webster scored four goals in two games: first in October in a 5-0 win over Cambridge City in the third qualifying round of the 2009/10 FA Cup , for which he was named by the Football Association as “ Player of the Round ”honored. A little later the qualification for the first main round of the FA Cup succeeded, there a goal by Webster against the fifth division Rushden & Diamonds was not enough to advance (final score 1: 3). A month after his first four-pack, he repeated the feat in a 7-3 win over AFC Fylde in the final qualifying round of the FA Trophy , in the first main round of the competition they were defeated by the fifth division York City in the replay. After a total of 29 league goals in 71 missions, Webster moved to Corby Town for the 2010/11 season within the league . In March 2011, his contract with the club, which had run into financial difficulties, was dissolved again, by then Webster had scored three goals in 25 season appearances.
