Adam I. von Podewils (* before 1480; † December 21, 1503 in Belgard ) was Princely Pomeranian Privy Councilor, governor in Zanow and Belgard as well as Lord of Podewils , Schinz , Krangen , Buckow, Latzig , Rarfin in Western Pomerania as well as already at home Demmin in Western Pomerania .

Adam von Podewils came from the old Pomeranian noble family Podewils . His parents were Ventz von Podewils auf Podewils and Anna von Polevitzken from the Sonnenburg family. He married Kunigunde von Wolden from the Wusterbarth house with whom he had children Peter , Ventz , Adam III. and Appolonia had.

Life

Around 1480 Adam Podewils had received the Krangen house from Duke Bogislaw X. and thus founded the Krangen line of the family. In 1481 he was given the bailiwick of Belgard. He was one of the negotiators who initiated the marriage of Bogislaw X in 1489/1490 to Anna, the daughter of the Polish king Casimir IV Jagiełło . On October 28, 1495, Duke Bogislaw signed a contract with Adam Podewils and his sons Peter and Ventz . For 733 Rhenish guilders , the Podewils came into the possession of House Demmin and the associated lands, which from 1512 became the fief of his son Peter.
