Addi Feuerstein

Adam "Addi" Feuerstein , also Addy Feuerstein and Adi Feuerstein (born May 30, 1927 in Mannheim ) is a German jazz musician ( alto saxophone , flute , also vibraphone ), arranger and composer.

Life

Feuerstein received piano and accordion lessons from the age of eight . From 1942 to 1945 he was taught at the Army Music School in Bückeburg ; from 1945 he studied at the Musikhochschule Mannheim in order to work as a musician and band leader. In 1957 Eddie Sauter brought him into the SWF dance orchestra as a saxophonist. Since 1959 he has been a member of the RIAS dance orchestra (led by Dave Hildinger , among others ) . Joachim Ernst Berendt brought him in for the productions of the Berlin Dream Band with Oliver Nelson , Stan Kenton and Gil Evans during the Berlin Jazz Days . He also played in the bands of Helmut Brandt , Wolfgang Lauth and Günter Noris . He composed and arranged jazz, dance and pop music for the radio orchestra. As a soloist he can be heard on albums with Inge Brandenburg , Hildegard Knef , Reinhard Mey , Schobert & Black , Toots Thielemans , Rolf-Hans Müller , Zoot Sims , the RIAS Big Band and the Berlin Dreamband .
