The Adelaide Adrenaline is a semi-professional Australian ice hockey club from Adelaide , which was founded in 2008 and plays in the Australian Ice Hockey League .
history
The club was formed in July 2008 and took the place in the Australian Ice Hockey League that became vacant after Adelaide Avalanche was disbanded a month earlier due to financial difficulties. After the club reached an agreement with the Australian Ice Hockey League, he was still allowed to start playing the current season, but had to finish the Avalanche schedule, whose previous results remained. In addition, the club committed to take over the entire Avalanche squad. Under the provisional name of Adelaide A’s , Adelaide reached sixth place in the table at the end of the season and thus missed the playoffs. For the 2009 season, the club name was changed to Adelaide Adrenaline to differentiate itself from the Avalanche. With a 3-2 final victory after overtime, Adelaide also managed to win the Goodall Cup , the AIHL championship title, for the first time under the new name in 2009 .
In the 2010 season Adelaide Adrenaline was able to move into the final of the Goodall Cup again, but lost to hosts Melbourne Ice 4-6 in this .
