Adelheid Arndt

Adelheid Arndt (born January 3, 1952 in Heidelberg ) is a German theater and film actress .

Life

The daughter of a chemist and a teacher first studied ethnology in Berlin after graduating from high school, where she trained as an actor from 1973 to 1977. She started her career at the Grips Theater and got a role in 1976 in the film The Girls' War , set in Prague between 1936 and 1946. For her leading role in the film 1 + 1 = 3 (1979), in which she portrayed a pregnant woman between two men, she received the Federal Film Prize , the Ernst Lubitsch Prize and a Grand Prix at the IFF Montreal .

In the 1980s she took part in several television films and series, including the ZDF children's series Siebenstein , which she helped to create and which earned her a European Union award. Arndt played her role as a junk shop owner Siebenstein in a total of 15 seasons from 1988 to 2003. In the 1990s she turned back to the theater in addition to her work on television.

Adelheid Arndt has a severely disabled daughter, so she retired from acting and founded the association Leben wie du und ich , in which she is now a board member.
