Adewale Olukoju

Adewale Olukoju (born July 27, 1968 in Zaria ) is a former Nigerian discus thrower and shot putter .

In 1987 he won both disciplines at the Pan-African Games in Nairobi. In 1988 he won gold in discus throw and bronze in shot put at the African Championships in Annaba . At the Olympic Games in Seoul , he was eliminated in the discus throw in qualification.

At the Commonwealth Games in Auckland in 1990 , he triumphed in the discus throw and took silver in the shot put. The following year he won the discus throw at the Universiade and was eleventh at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo . At the Africa Games in Cairo, gold in the discus and silver in the shot put followed.

At the African Championships in 1992 in Belle Vue Maurel, he won his second title in the discus throw and the bronze medal in the shot put.

At the Universiade 1993 and the Commonwealth Games 1994 in Victoria he won silver in the discus throw. In 1995 he finished sixth at the World Cup in Tokyo and won the African Games for the third time in a row. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he did not get past the first round.
