Finale is the name of the official Adidas match ball of the UEFA Champions League .

properties

The final ball has been used since the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League . It had its origins in the Terrestra Silverstream , the official match ball of the European Football Championship 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands .

The biggest distinguishing feature of the ball are the stars of the logo of the Champions League. They adorn the whole ball and do not differ in their shape, but every year in their color. The colors on the white background of the Finale Ball are changed every season.

The actual ball is different, however, and Adidas is continuously developing it. Although the standard soccer ball with hexagonal and pentagonal panels was used initially, a new panel structure was introduced later.

Furthermore, the color of the stars is changed every season, for example silver stars in 2001/02 , black in 2002/03 , dark blue in 2003/04, red in 2004/05 and light blue in 2005/06 . For the 2006/07 season , from which the Structure of the + team spirit was used, it was decorated with black, red and white stars, in 2007/08 with black, gray and orange.

Since 2008, the white background of the ball has also been changed in color in the final of the Champions League. The ball in Moscow in 2008 had a silver background and in 2009 in Rome a gold background.

Furthermore, the finals of the UEFA Europa League are to be contested with the design of the final ball.
