The Admiral Makarow ( Russian Адмирал Макаров ) is a frigate of the Admiral Grigorowitsch class of the Russian Navy . It is named after the Imperial Russian Admiral Stepan Makarow and belongs to the Black Sea Fleet .

The ship is the third of Project 11356 and has a displacement of about 4000 tons. The Admiral Makarow reaches a speed of 30  knots and can stay at sea for 30 days without interruption. The crew consists of 180 people, including 18 officers. There is also space for up to 20 marines. In addition, a Ka-27PL or Ka-31 helicopter and crew can be carried.

At the beginning of September 2018, the Admiral Makarov took part in joint exercises with ships of the Black Sea Fleet, the Northern Fleet , the Baltic Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla, as well as with the air forces in the Eastern Mediterranean .
