Adnan Softic

Adnan Softić (* 1975 in Sarajevo , Yugoslavia ) is a visual artist , author and director.

Career

Adnan Softić studied film and aesthetic theory at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, where he also taught as a visiting professor for film and as a substitute professor for time-related media.

In his works the artist deals with historical and memory-political issues. Adnan Softić works in an interdisciplinary manner, examining the relationships between architecture and violence, narration and exile and dealing with extraterritoriality , invisibility and post-colonial criticism. In his first works he describes his artistic approach as “post-traumatic entertainment”, which aims to bring together irreconcilable perspectives.
