Heinz Georg Adochi (* 1954 in Rosenau , Transylvania , Romania ) is a painter and sculptor . The artist, who usually only uses his last name, lives in Cologne , Germany and in Monte a Pescia , Italy , where his studio is also located.

life and work

Adochi studied from 1977 to 1984 in Berlin at the Academy of Arts (now University of the Arts ) painting with Wolfgang Petrick and sculpture at Michael Schoenholtz . 1983 master class with Michael Schoenholtz.

International solo exhibitions and participation in exhibitions since the early 1980s made him known to a wider audience. Adochi has received numerous scholarships, for example 1981–83 from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes , 1983–84 a scholarship abroad for Italy, 1985–86 a scholarship from the State of Berlin, in 1988 a scholarship from the Stahly Foundation for Vaison-la-Romaine , France, 1990 a grant from the Barkenhoff Foundation, 1992 Cité Internationale des Arts Paris , 1996 a grant from the Bleckede Artists' Center and in 1999 a guest grant from the Villa Romana in Florence. His work has also been presented at numerous art fairs.

He is represented in the contemporary art collection of the Federal Republic of Germany with his painting mask from 1987. Further works can be found in the Museum Villa Haiss and in the Erich Wilker Museum.
